ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) - An Alaskan woman died after getting caught in a boat propeller near Napakiak late Tuesday night.

According to Alaska State Troopers, investigators determined that a man was operating a vessel when the boat’s motor struck something underwater, ejecting both the operator and passenger.

Troopers said the passenger, who was later identified as 33-year-old Adrianna Tinker, became caught in the boat’s propeller after being thrown from the vessel.

Tinker was taken to a local clinic where she received medical treatment, but she ultimately didn’t survive her injuries and died.

The man driving the boat was unharmed.

Tinker’s body has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
