MACON, Ga. (WPGA) - A Macon fashion show is putting the spotlight on people rebuilding their lives after incarceration.

The “A New Me Fashion Show,” presented by A Better Day Than Yesterday Initiative, will feature models who were formerly incarcerated and are working to reenter their communities.

“We want them to feel like they deserve a second chance. We want them to feel like they are a new me,” said LeTeisha Gordon, founder of the A Better Day Than Yesterday Initiative. “They have served their time. They have come home. Now they are back in the community, and we want them to feel welcome.”

The event is scheduled for 4 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Douglass Theatre.

Tickets are available through the Douglass Theatre’s website. Proceeds will benefit A Better Day Than Yesterday Initiative.
