Macklemore claims several US arenas banned his ‘Free Palestine’ tour

(CNN) - Macklemore is claiming nine arenas in the U.S. won’t allow him to perform on his “Free Palestine” benefit tour.

In a social media post, he said his team received available dates at the arenas through the end of the year. However, Macklemore claims those dates were no longer available once the arenas found out about it would be for his benefit shows.

He said the arenas included New York’s Madison Square Garden and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Madison Square Garden said they have limited availability, and Macklemore is “not an arena level act.”

In September, Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour following his onstage support of Palestine.
